Φωτογραφίες γάμου με την Canon EOS 550D και την Canon G11

Well,

It is a little strange to use a non professional DSLR for professional work, but with the same logic a professional shouldn’t use a Canon G11 or an Olympus EP-2 or cameras that are considered “outsiders” for serious work.

I personally use compact cameras (like the G11) for my personal work in many situations where compactness, large depth of field and discretion matters.

I belong to this kind of photographers where to carry less and to pass unnoticed are very important factors which I have to consider very seriously.

A big professional DSLR is the step in the wrong direction for me for most cases.

Until now I have never before used a small DSLR like the 550D for my professional work like weddings and relied to my old but trusty 5D mark I the last years and others before that.

Well a reviewer I am not, I don’t have the amount of technical knowledge for that, but aim impressed for what this little camera has to offer.

The most important factor for me after operation speed and a good auto focus, are the high ISO of a camera because I barely use a flash for the known reasons.

The good news is that speed and auto focus are more than sufficient for serious work.

Corrections like over-under exposure can be done easily without the back round dial in other Canon models.

But the most important is that high ISO at 1600-3200 are close comparable with the famous for that full-frame DSLR the 5D mark I.

Auto white balance and Flash exposure are better than my older camera the 5D mark I to.

The same goes for dust on the sensor where the 5D was a pain in that area.

Another great feature is the quite good working live view (where auto focus can be a little tricky sometimes and requires cause) for the reason that different approach (non-obstructive) and angles can be used.

I have to admit that I almost don’t use the 5D anymore and combine the G11 for non action and the 550D for all the rest.
